Vice President of Global Research & Development

As Vice President of Global Research & Development, Dr. Pedersen oversees all R&D efforts globally including novel technology development, current product support, and new product development.

Prior to TransEnterix, Dr. Pedersen was the Head of Research, Development, and Engineering in the VHP Life Sciences Business Group at Steris plc.  There he led a multidisciplinary team that launched several global products and managed all aspects of the product lifecycle, in addition to technology scouting and voice-of-customer research.  

Dr. Pedersen earned both MS and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a BS degree in Applied Physics from Weber State University.
